There wasn’t much on the line, but these five Cleveland Browns who saw their stocks rise during a 27-19 win against the Cincinnati Bengals Dec. 8.

The Cleveland Browns beating the Cincinnati Bengals in December is becoming a glum tradition.

If two irrelevant NFL teams play a meaningless game in December, does anyone care?

For the second straight season, Cleveland hosted Cincinnati at First Energy and won, although the most recent test a tad tougher.

Cleveland handled it’s business against its down-state rival, though, albeit the results are still meaningless.

The nose dive the Browns have taken this season was driven home after the game, when the CBS broadcast showed that the Brown are technically in the playoff picture.

While true, you can’t help but to look at the team ahead of them and shake your head: The Browns are two games behind the Steelers, a team they should of beaten last week, but instead, suffered a humiliating defeat as the head coach managed to turn a T-shirt into a five-day storyline.

Meanwhile, the Bengals are playing for the first pick. They’ve gotten their win, so they can avoid the same of going winless, which is something their rival Browns couldn’t do in 2017.

With tickets going for about $9 outside the stadium, you get the sense at how much the paying public was looking forward to this one.

It takes you back to March, when all of a sudden, season tickets were back in en vogue and rumors of the Browns’ sales people not giving people the time of day were emanating on social media.

So, the Sadness Bowl was played in the Factory of Sadness as Browns fans are left wondering what the heck happened to the season, while Bengals fans get set to close the book on the Andy Dalton era.

Despite the Browns being the doormat of the league during Andy Dalton’s career, Cincinnati and Cleveland have won as many playoff games as each other. It seems like a crack on Dalton, but it’s not. I think he’s played above and beyond what people expected of him coming into the league.

It’s more of a commentary on how Bengals fans feel. They want a winner, just like Browns fans do, and both fanbases just find themselves disappointed.

At least Clevelanders got a home win, which is still a rare thing in my opinion, to celebrate, as these five Browns saw their stocks go up.
