Cleveland Cavaliers: Kevin Love outburst escalates trade rumors
Cleveland Cavaliers forward Kevin Love reportedly blew up at GM Koby Altman over how “selfish” the first-team unit was playing.
With the Cleveland Cavaliers plummeting toward their second straight losing season, rumors of disfunction stole NBA headlines when it was reported that Kevin Love reportedly blew up at general manager Koby Altman.
Love was reportedly upset with how selfish the first unit was playing and the fact Altman fined him $1,000 seemed to really grind his gears.
This video seems to encapsulate how Love is rumored to feel about his second-year teammate, Collin Sexton.

Love instantly responded to all the rumors of disfunction in a heartfelt Instagram post blasting all the “Non-truths being shared” while also professing love for all of his teammates.
Despite what Loves says, trade rumors involving the power forward are only going to ramp up with four weeks to go until the NBA trade deadline.
ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski previously said the trade market for Love is a protected first-round pick, but Cleveland.com’s Terry Pluto wrote trade talk wasn’t serious and the Cavs didn’t seem like they just wanted to give the four-time All-Star away.
This was learned a day before his blow up, though.
On Saturday, Love had the outburst directed at Altman. Pluto didn’t know how this scene would impact whether or not the Cavs would feel differently about moving Love now.
The latest blowup comes three weeks after Love and Altman first talked about the direction of the franchise back before the Cavs’ Dec. 11 game against Houston. Love was playing poorly in the games leading up to that date, and he and his GM reportedly had a talk about attitude and body language.
Love is in the first year of the $120 million contract extension he signed during the summer of 2018. When he agreed to pact, he was sold on the idea that the Cavs would still be competitive. Then, he got hurt and missed 3/4 of the 2018-2019 season. The Cavs went into the tank and there’s no signs they’re coming out of it.
If Love thought he was signing up for thing, and getting another, you can understand his frustration. Darius Garland leads the team in assists with 3.1 per game. Love is SECOND with 2.9 per game. Sexton, a point guard, treats assists like rumors. Sexton, not known for his passing entering the league out of Alabama, is averaging 2.3 assists per night.
