4 impacts hiring of Andrew Berry will have on Cleveland Browns in 2020
4. Roster not likely to be shaken up
Yahoo’s Charles Robinson tweeted that he doesn’t believe Berry will “Arbitrarily flush talent” now that he’s in charge.
Thinking back to what Jimmy Haslam said following the season, this adds up with what ownership said about the talent on the team.
The Browns won’t be undergoing a rebuild. The team is young. Stars, such as Jarvis Landry and Odell Beckham Jr., are in their prime at the age of 27. Additionally, Haslam talked about doing exit interviews with 25-30 core players, so one would think, if the organization is truly aligned, that everyone is on the same page about who stays and who goes.
It will be interesting to see what the team decides to do regarding Joe Schobert. There was no movement on a contract toward the end of the season, but it’s unclear if that’s because Dorsey didn’t want him, or if he was being mandated by Paul DePodesta to not get a deal done.
One would also assume that Damarious Randall is on his way out after a disappointing season in his “walk year.”
