Dragons vs. Roughnecks

The Houston Roughnecks defeated the Seattle Dragons by a score of 32-23.  The Dragons would’ve had a chance to tie the game up if the officials didn’t pooch the game-ending call but even then it’s unlikely Seattle would’ve gotten in the endzone with how poor their quarterback play has been.

HOU – QB P.J. Walker

P.J. Walker had a bit of an up and down game, with two turnovers, while throwing for three touchdowns and 351 yards, with a steller completion percentage of 71%. Had he had not turned the ball over twice, he would’ve entered the MVP conversation as the sole front runner but despite his stellar numbers, he did hurt his team some and for that, he stays tied for the spot.

HOU – WR Cam Phillips

Cam Phillips started the year relatively slow but in two of his last three games, Phillips has over 120 yards receiving. He had another big day against the Dragons, with 10 receptions for 122 yards and two touchdowns; bringing him to nine for the season.

SEA – LB Steven Johnson

Steven Johnson continues to be the staple of this Seattle defense, racking up another eight combined tackles as he leads the best the most reliable part of the team week in and week out.

Notes: Seattle’s B. J. Daniels struggled with only 144 combined yards but scored two touchdowns to keep the game close. His receiver, Austin Proehl, finally cracked 50 yards again. James Butler puts in another two touchdowns for the Roughnecks. With Houston’s Nick Holley having a good game as well, with 72 yards across four receptions for a touchdown.
