Armed with $65 million in cap space, perhaps the Cleveland Browns will sign one of these five free agents no one is talking about in 2020.

Yet again, the Cleveland Browns enter free agency with a war chest packed with cash as the team is expected to try and cut some corners in order to contend for the playoffs in 2020.

Armed with $65 million in cap space, the Browns are expected to be active on the free-agent market. Many prognosticators believe the Browns will sign an experienced offensive lineman. Tackle Jack Conklin‘s name is often thrown around, but The Athletic’s Zac Jackson doesn’t see it happening.

Patriots guard Joe Thuney has been rumored to be of interest, while 38-year-old Jason Peters may be the most viable way to fix the left tackle spot in 2020.

And while the Browns possess deep pockets, the organization must practice some fiscal restraint considering the wave of their own players who will soon become free agents. Big money will likely start being doled out in-season, or next offseason, starting with Myles Garrett.

From there, the Browns will then start to consider lucrative extensions for Baker Mayfield and Denzel Ward.

Those moves are still a ways off, though, and the focus for the organization seems to be on winning in 2020. Ownership refuses to call this a rebuilding effort, as the roster is still loaded with talent.

The Browns will make some moves, and probably offer a surprise or two. Perhaps Cleveland will even come away with one of these five free agents that no one is talking about ahead of the March 18 commencement of free agency.
