On the final day of the draft, North Carolina’s Jason Strowbridge would bring added depth to a defensive line GM Andrew Berry has already spent some resources on fixing, signing Andrew Billings.

Strowbridge impressed scouts at the Senior Bowl with his ability to get into the backfield because he’s not known or thought to be a big pass rushing threat.

In his final season with the Tar Heels, Strowbridge co-led the ACC with three fumble recoveries, while also using his 32 3/8 arm length to get his hands on four field goal/PAT attempts in the past three seasons.

NFL.com’s Lance Zeirlein wrote that the senior has potential to become a starter on the defensive line as a base end in a 4-3 scheme. New defensive coordinator Joe Woods has made it clear that he will continue to employ the scheme.
