7th round, Cheyenne O’Grady, TE, Arkansas

Speculation around Cheyenne O’Grady is that he’ll either be a seventh-rounder, or he won’t be drafted, as off-the-field issues are a concern.

While at Arkansas, the production was there, as O’Grady For his career caught 87 passes for a total of 967 receiving yards. He also added 12 touchdowns in 33 games–the most by a tight end in Razorbacks’ history.

O’Grady was charged with a DWI early on at college, and then was dismissed from the team last November.

If John Dorsey was making the pick, you could see this selection as a probability, however, with Andrew Berry and Paul DePodesta calling the shots, you’ve got to wonder how they feel about a player with cloud over his head.

With analytics supposed to be about minimizing risk, it doesn’t seem to make sense to take a troubled player, who may very well end up being available.

Principal’s note: The low mark isn’t because of O’Grady’s checkered past, rather, I go back to earlier in Brugler’s mock when he passed over Trautman.
