The Cleveland Browns are poised for a big year in 2020 and these are the three names you might not think are going to have massive years.

The Cleveland Browns are everything but the same team from 2019. A massive roster overhaul took place during the offseason, with only a few staples left standing. There could be as many as five new starters on defense and five new starters on offense, not too mention all of the new backups and rookies.

So which players are going to step up in 2020? Well, hopefully, the big ones, like Baker Mayfield, Jarvis Landry, Nick Chubb, Myles Garrett, and Denzel Ward are on that list. Let’s just hope they’re not the only ones.

These are the three names who could have major years in 2020.

DT Larry Ogunjobi

This could very well be the last year Larry Ogunjobi is a Cleveland Brown. Why? He’s a free agent in 2021. Ogunjobi is in his contract year, which means that he’s set for a massive season defensively. While not every free-agent-to-be steps up, generally speaking, the better players do.

LB Mack Wilson

The new man in the middle will more than likely be second-year linebacker, Mack Wilson. Wilson is expected to slide into Joe Schobert’s spot and lead the defense. It’s always possible that the Browns don’t start him in the middle, but for right now that’s exactly where those in the know believe he’ll be. Wilson is a good tackler with a nose for the ball and should do a serviceable job replacing the former Pro Bowler. With him at the heart of the action, his stats are expected to go up across the board.

KR/PR Donovan Peoples-Jones

The odds of wideout Donovan Peoples-Jones getting many if any reps at wide receiver are slim to none. As a late-round pick, his best bet to make the team is to be a special teams player. While the team is still looking for a dynamic return man to be the next Dennis Northcutt and Josh Cribbs, this has created an opportunity for him. If Peoples-Jones can actually make the squad and become the primary return man, he may just impress people.
