After an awful start to the season, Franmil Reyes looks to be back to form for the Cleveland Indians.

The Cleveland Indians are lucky because Franmil Reyes is streaking right when the team needs him most. The Indians are now 9-7 with a win over the Chicago White Sox on Saturday night. They can win their fourth series of the season with another win on Sunday, and hopefully, go to 10-7. That’s a strong record, considering Reyes started off real slow for the team and looked as bad as he ever had. Now, he has seven hits in his last five games, with six RBI’s tacked on.

While not MVP numbers, he’s at least starting to find his stroke and confidence again. Which is good, because the Indians have already played12 games where the outcome was decided by three runs or less and a thirteenth that was by just four runs. That leaves only three games that were decided by more than five runs. To be fair, all three of those games the Tribe won.

So at least when the Indians score more than five runs they’re guaranteed to win. That’s a testament to how good the starting pitching and bullpen has been. If the team scores five runs a game, they’ll never lose again. As long as the pitching maintains it’s dominance. Which isn’t a far-out-there idea. With only 60 games and the playoffs, the arms of the staff-at-large will be much fresher and will be in much better shape as the postseason looms.

Heading into the last White Sox game of their second series of the season, the Indians are only 1.5 games back of the Twins. They’re also one of two current wild card teams, with the Detroit Tigers tied with them for a spot.

For what’s worth, Carlos Santana is also starting to show life, but until he cracks a .200 average, it’s not worth getting overly excited about.
