Mack Wilson made news on Monday for injuring star running back Nick Chubb, but on Tuesday it was the second year Wilson who was hurt.
Mack Wilson is making news this week for all the wrong reasons. Wilson gave star running back Nick Chubb a concussion after a high neck tackle caused Chubb to bounce around a bit. This got people riled up and angry, but on Tuesday Wilson made injury news again. Not because he hurt someone else but because he hurt himself.
After being demoted to the second team for the hit on Chubb, Wilson was carted off the field according to Mary Kay Cabot, with his head in his hands. Wilson is the only returning starter from last year’s linebacking corps. He was set to compete with B.J. Goodson, Sione Takitaki, and rookie Jacob Phillips. Wilson was considered a near-lock thought by many experts to start.

The injury may not be more than intense cramping, after all it is training camp in Ohio during August. Dehydration happens. Though, by the sounds of it, it may be worse than just cramping. The Browns are already down a few players, namely Myles Garrett, who is dealing with a tweaked hamstring. Then of course there was the hit on Chubb that gave the star running back a concussion.

Jarvis Landry is still rehabbing his way back into full pads, having had surgery on his hip in the offseason. The injuries are in bountiful supply in the early days of training camp.
In other training camp news, Jedrick Wills is looking a bit slow to pick up his new position. While most noted in the play that saw Chubb get hurt, others have pointed out that Wills is not looking great so far at the left tackle position. It’s a change of pace for the former Alabama prospect, who played right tackle for most of his time in college, protecting Tua Tagovailoa’s blindside (he’s a lefty), so it’s nothing to have concern about.
