Ben Roethlisberger

The Steeler icon and enemy of all things good, Ben Roethlisberger is healthy again and showing the NFL what he’s capable of doing. Currently completing just a hair under 70% of his passes, with over 1,000 yards, and 10 touchdowns to his credit in four games, Roethlisberger has come out of the blocks firing. Clearly the reason his offense has any pop whatsoever, a big performance from Roethlisberger may be all the Steelers need to fend off the Browns

Making sure that doesn’t happen is going to be hard, mostly because the Browns defense is the equivalent t of using a pasta strainer to empty out a flooding boat. The Browns secondary and linebackers have largely been bad, and even if one or two players have stepped up every so often, the units as a whole have to work if they’re going to slow teams down. Which hasn’t been the case.

The only hope the Browns have is that their front four can go after the quarterback. Sheldon Richardson is having a bounce-back year and Myles Garrett is trying to play his way into a Defensive Player of the Year award, but Jordan Elliot has been outright ineffective in any snaps he’s gotten. Porter Gustin has played well but not given a lot of time on the field, and Olivier Vernon can’t stay healthy. The Browns need to get after Roethlisberger if they want to be able to pull off a win.
