The Cleveland Browns have found out that Odell Beckham Jr. has a torn ACL and will be done for the year after their win against the Bengals.

The Browns will be without one of their highest-paid players after Sunday’s game as Odell Beckham Jr. is done for the year with a torn left ACL. Beckham seemingly tore his ligament on the first drive of the game, after Baker Mayfield threw an interception. Beckham chased down the Bengals defender who picked off the pass, ended up in the air attempting to tackle him, fell into fellow Browns player Andy Janovich before falling to the ground clutching his knee.

ACL injuries can typically take some serious time to heal depending on how the person responds to therapy. If their body is conducive, Beckham could be contact-ready within six months. If he’s not, it could be closer to a year that he’s out. Beckham has a history of lower leg injuries, and that may be a problem during rehab.

Through seven games, Beckham has had 319 yards, three touchdowns via receiving, and another 72 yards and one more touchdown rushing the ball. This will end up being the fourth straight season that Beckham had that ended in a disappointment. Counting the nine games he won’t play this year, he has now missed 25 games since 2017.

The Browns will now rely on Rashard Higgins and Donovan Peoples-Jones to replace his productivity; that is unless the Browns can land a free agent wide receiver or trade for one before the trade deadline on Nov. 3 at 4 PM ET.

This will give the Browns an entire game against the Oakland Raiders to see how they feel about their crop of wide receivers. With Jarvis Landry’s hip issue still being a factor, however, and the Browns receiver corp not being great before the injuries to their top guys, it makes sense that the Browns would at least see who and what is out there.
