The Cleveland Browns desperately need a new Wide Reciever to fill out their roster now that Odell Beckham, Jr. is out for the season with an ACL tear.

This past Sunday proved worrisome for the Cleveland Browns, as Odell Beckham, Jr. suffered an ACL tear in his first play of the game. Now that Beckham is out for the season, where does that leave the Browns, in terms of depth, when it comes to their wide receivers?

Currently, they’re running a fine combo of Donovan Peoples-Jones, Jarvis Landry, and Rashard Higgins. The only problem is the depth after those three is abysmal. Should one of those three get hurt, or the upstart Peoples-Jones not prove to be able to get work done, the Browns are down to just Taywan Taylor at the second string, and that’s it.

Jojo Natson, KhaDarel Hodge, and Beckham are all on Injured Reserve, leaving only Taylor to step up should another receiver fall this season. Taylor has a total combined 697 receiving yards after spending two seasons with Tennessee, and now in his second season with Cleveland. That doesn’t bode well for a seemingly injury-prone team.

So it raises the question of whether or not the Browns should be trading for a new wide receiver to round out their roster, and undoubtedly, the answer is yes. Even with an explosive backfield, this new Cleveland team has established their bread and butter with Baker Mayfield, his miraculous passing game, and their receivers’ uncanny ability to be in the right place to make those catches.

The trade deadline is coming up on November 3rd, so the Browns need to act fast. There are plenty of fantastic wide receivers on the trade block, and it would be in Cleveland’s best interest to keep their passing game strong. Otherwise, it’s definitely possible that we watch another Cleveland Browns season fall apart.
