The Cleveland Browns are set to get Nick Chubb back for their Week 10 match with the Houston Texans and it couldn’t come at a better time.

The Cleveland Browns are about to get back their prized workhorse running back Nick Chubb. Chubb hasn’t played in nearly four games since going down early in the team’s matchup against Dallas in Week 4. Since that loss, the Browns are 2-2 but neither loss would’ve been prevented with Chubb back any sooner. The Browns proved they can win without him, as long as the defense does anything, literally anything at all.

With Chubb coming back, the team should receive a huge boost to their running game but Chubb alone will only help so much. Part of the reason the rushing game was so good early on was due to Wyatt Teller’s involvement. So if you’re a fan of Chubb, you should be even happier to hear that Teller is returning as well for the Texans game.

This will be the first time in over a month that two of the biggest keys to the Browns rushing attack have shared the same field. Their returns will see several things happen. Teller will since backup Chris Hubbard to the bench, and while Hubbard played well, he did not play as well as Teller who was getting some serious talk about having an MVP-caliber season.

Chubb’s return will also see Kareem Hunt return to the backup role, and despite Hunt being in the Top 10 in rushing yards, it’s not that impressive when you realize Derrick Henry and Delvin Cook have over 800 rushing yards already, while Hunt only has 529. Hunt did nicely in Chubb’s absence but the offense was carried by Baker Mayfield, as Hunt struggled up the middle. In fact, Hunt hasn’t been making too many big plays since taking over Chubb’s role.

Returning Hunt to a secondary role will allow Hunt to work in open spaces more and to improve his receiving numbers which are some of the worst he’s ever had.

The team will also allow for the return of the play-action and boot-leg passes that have been so effective for the Browns. While the team did still run them with Hunt, it didn’t have the same potency with defenses aware that Hunt wasn’t going to bang them around by rushing the ball. With Chubb back, that concern should return.

Mayfield has had a nice bounce-back year, and he’s looking at a big game against Houston. If Chubb and Teller are back to form, Mayfield and the Browns may have a game to remember.
