1. Olivier Vernon

Olivier Vernon was one of the biggest disappointments of the first half of the season. He’d been mostly healthy, yet he was giving the Browns nothing playing opposite of Myles Garrett on the defensive line.

That’s why it comes as a great surprise that Vernon had his best game in a Cleveland uniform in a contest in which Garrett didn’t play.

Vernon totaled three sacks and was just an absolute force in getting in Carson Wentz’ face. He added two other takedowns to finish with five total tackles.

You would’ve had to work for Pro Football Focus to see Olivier Vernon last week, because only a frame-by-frame examination could tell you how he performed (not well). That said, he had two sacks against the Raiders and now three on Sunday. That’s five in his last three games.

If a sleeping giant is awakening, the second-half stretch would be one heck-of-a-time to wake up.
