After several exceptional performances this season, Justin Fields has shown he has what it takes to be a top-level quarterback at the pro level.

You might be thinking that’s a bit of a stretch following the one-touchdown win over the Indiana Hoosiers this past Saturday, but the fact still remains: Justin Fields, the starting quarterback for the Ohio State Buckeyes, has all of the tools to tackle the NFL and succeed at the top level. The Georgia-native is in his junior year at Ohio State, and while you could say he’s ready to go pro now, with a year of maturing and finding his rhythm, Fields could end up being a first-round draft pick when he does make his way up to the NFL.

It’s hard to say that with complete confidence after Fields threw three interceptions against the Hoosiers, his only three interceptions of the season, but his season stats, and the 2019 season stats speak for themselves. Fields has thrown for 13 touchdowns this season, and rushed for three, and has racked up an impressive 1,208 passing yards in just four games.

Throwing back to the 2019 season, Fields threw for a monstrously impressive 3,273 passing yards and racked up an incredible 41 touchdowns throughout the year. It’s safe to say that his stats at the quarterback position speak for themself, but it’s not just a stats-based game.

What’s most impressive about Fields is his ability to act under pressure. Fields is at home in the pocket, but he’s not afraid to scramble if he has to. Plenty of times we’ve seen Fields run the ball in for the first down, and his ability to make those decisions on the fly is on par with a lot of quarterbacks currently playing at the pro level. Not to mention, his arm is a cannon and a laser, able to drop bombs and precision passes from anywhere in the backfield.

Fields isn’t afraid to get his hands dirty and rack up the rushing yards, but he’s an incredible threat behind the line of scrimmage. With a strong offensive line, there is no doubt that his passing yards will hit the multi-thousands. If he ends up drafted to a strong passing team, Fields has the potential to put up amazing numbers and lead whichever team that would be to a very good season.

Safe to say, if Field’s trajectory stays on course, he’s going to continue his exponential climb to the top of every coach’s draft list, and you could see him making incredible waves amongst the pros. Expect Fields to lead the Buckeyes to a Big 10 championship, and potentially even the NCAA championship. But no matter the case, expect to see Fields doing his thing on the NFL field in the future.
