Fans of the Cleveland Browns, Indians, and Cavs have plenty to be thankful for this Thanksgiving and these are just four of them.

If you’re a fan of the Cleveland Browns, Indians, or Cavs, then this year has given you plenty of things to be thankful for. From awesome games to emerging stars to more than one team in the city being a playoff contender, 2020 has delivered. For the most part. Sure, it’s been a hard year, and at times it’s been unbearable. Yet, in Cleveland, the sports world has shown brightly.

You know, on everyone but the Cavs.

So with that, let’s take a look at just four of the many things that fans of the Browns, Indians, and Cavs should be grateful for in 2020. It’s been a long year but finally, we have things to celebrate.

These are four things that Cleveland sports fans should be thankful for.

Cavs – Kevin Love’s altruism.

The Cavs are in the gutter and Koby Altman is seemingly building a young team for the future and a playoff team full of veterans to compete now. Who knows if it’ll work. While the team is all sorts of mixed up, one of their best players, Kevin Love, has found a way to spread some hope in 2020. Speaking out more than ever before about the struggles of mental health in a pro sports setting, he’s been able to get more positive attention on the issue and not only raise awareness but also raise funds through his charity, The Kevin Love Fund. Not only that, but Love gave money to the employees of the Quicken Lones Arena to help cover lost wages during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Indians – Shane Bieber and a franchise who knows how to re-load.

Shane Bieber is just another in the line of Cy Young-winning (or Cy Young caliber) pitchers the Cleveland Indians have pumped out since 2007. Watching the Ace of the AL dominate the 2020 season was a sight to behold and even though the Indians didn’t get past the first round, and the looming financial issues that surround the Indians, this franchise has shown time and time again the ability to put out a competitive and productive team regardless of who stays or goes. Yes, Francisco Lindor will be gone come spring training, but the team has usually nailed trades in the past and there’s no reason to doubt their ability making this one work out in their favor.

Browns – A good team, finally.

The Cleveland Browns have had maybe three, maybe four “good” seasons since 1999. One playoff team, two winning records, and two seasons of “meh, not bad” are really all the Browns fans have had to hang on for years. This year, however, the Browns have a good team and the perfect path to the playoffs. While they’re not in yet, and anything could still happen, it’s fair to say that this feels like the beginning of a true, authentic turnaround.

Misc – Stipe Miocic reclaiming gold.

In non-team news, Cleveland sports icon Stipe Miocic of the UFC and local area firefighter, returned to the Octagon to defeat Daniel Cormier to close out their trilogy. Miocic has the most title defenses in UFC history at heavyweight and with his win over Cormier securing his place as the division’s best going forward, a huge dream match against Jon Jones is on the horizon.
