Cleveland Indians: 3 new free agents who would fit with Tribe
1. Eddie Rosario
How sweet would it be to land Rosario after the Twins non-tendered him ahead of Wednesday’s deadline?
The Twins are one of the few teams with money, but even Rosario was getting expensive, as Minnesota has the luxury of turning to top prospects ready for the big league, such as Alex Kiriloff and Brent Rooker.
No team claimed him, which is indicative of front offices waiting to play things out with the hope a bunch of players hit free agency and asking prices go down because supply outweighs demand.
Rosario hit 13 home runs last season and was projected to earn around $9.5 million. If everyone passed on him for that price, perhaps Cleveland will have a chance to land him.
Rosario primarily played left filed while in Minnesota, although he has logged innings at every outfield position.
