Baker Mayfield

Every week he’s on this list because every week people say some pretty outlandish things about Baker Mayfield. Despite having comparable numbers to Ryan Tannehill, Mayfield is still having to deal with critics who claim he’s awful, which really shows you how little critics know about football. He’s not turned the ball over in four weeks, he has a good TD/INT ratio of 2.4:1 and he’s been the only consistent piece of the offense through the whole season.

What more can he really do? That’s the obnoxious question that we keep asking ourselves week after week. Yet, we keep asking it because people keep ignoring his play.

If Mayfield can come into this game, drop a touchdown or two, put up 200+ yards passing, and doesn’t turn the ball over, the Browns will win. He’ll still be dogged by critics for “relying too much on the running game” as if that’s an insult, but the Browns would then be 9-3 with a win over the vaunted Titans. You can’t deny a team’s standing at that point.

Yes, all everyone keeps talking about are the two losses to the Steelers and Ravens, but eventually, as the Browns keep winning, they’ll realize that there are more important things than stats. As Al Davis once said, “Just win, baby!”.
