4 Browns whose stock is down as Steelers staved off in Week 17
4. Terrance Mitchell
How do you describe Terrance’s Mitchell’s effort? He made some positive plays, which included a deflected pass, but the negative plays make those good things distant memories.
Pro Football Focus credited Mitchell with surrendering 88 yards on four catches, as well as a touchdown.
With the Steelers staring down 4th and 10 early in the fourth quarter, Mitchell surrendered a first-down catch to Chase Claypool. Moments later, Claypool caught a touchdown over Mitchell where it appeared the corner never turned to look for the ball.
It wasn’t his best game, but it could’ve been far worse. If anything, this contest highlights how important Denzel Ward is to the Browns. Let the former No. 4 overall pick go up against Claypool, while Mitchell takes No. 2 corner duties.
It’s a spot that’s suited the veteran ever since he came to Cleveland in 2018.
Mitchell better have a short memory because while Ward should be back, it’s not a slam dunk Kevin Johnson will come off the Covid/reserve list.
