5 Browns whose stock is up after the Browns Wild Card win vs the Steelers.

It’s fitting Al Michaels was behind the microphone for the Browns Wild Card playoff game, because by the end of a contest Cleveland supposedly had no chance of winning, every card carrying member of the Dawg Pound believed in miracles.

The Browns couldn’t have walked into a better start, but got the break they badly needed when nine-time Pro Bowler Maurkice Pouncey snapped the ball over Ben Roesthlisberger’s head.

It was the first play of the game, but IT was the turning point. All the pressure was off. Mike Priefer, filling in for Kevin Stefanski, all of a sudden was gifted a 7-point lead.

This game wasn’t going to be a blowout as it was the Browns played in Heinz Field last October. At the very least, Cleveland was going to be in it–little did we know that they’d go on to set a record by scoring 28 points in the first quarter as the visiting team in a playoff game.

The end result: 48-37. Yes, the Steelers made it closer than it should’ve been, but that’ the price you pay for taking a huge lead. You play softer on defense and get conservative on offense with the goal of running out the clock.

There were heroes everywhere in victory, but these five Browns, in particularly, saw their stocks rise as those beloved orange helmets spanked the Steelers out of the playoffs.
