Cleveland Indians: 3 impacts Eddie Rosario will have on 2021 Tribe
3 impacts Eddie Rosario will have on the 2021 Cleveland Indians
The Cleveland Indians signed Eddie Rosario, answering a long lingering question about who’s going to play the outfield.
It’s a position the Indians have basically thrown bodies at ever since Michael Brantley departed after the 2018 season.
They’ve tried platoons, lottery tickets and their own prospects, but nobody’s been able to sick.
The truncated 2020 campaign saw the outfield at their worst, when a collection of nine outfielders hit a combined .194 with 11 homers.
To make matters worse, the Tribe never found long-term help in the outfield after trading Corey Kluber, Trevor Bauer, Francisco Lindor, Mike Clevinger and Carlos Carrasco. Reyes was playing outfield with the Padres when he came over in the Bauer trade, but that’s only because there’s no DH.
Puig was in that deal as well, but he was always going to be a two month rental. He’s yet to find his new team after playing his final inning with the Tribe in 2019.
While this winter will be known for the Tribe trading its a franchise player in Lindor, the faithful can at least try to exert a little joy over signing a 25-30 home-run threat. Here’s three impacts Rosario will have on the 2021 Tribe.
