5. Emmanuel Clase, RP

Delino DeShields signed a minor league deal with the Texas Rangers, as the centerfielder returned to the team that dealt him to the Tribe for Corey Kluber.

Kluber didn’t last an inning with Texas before suffering a season ending injury. He’s now in New York.

That leaves Emmanuel Clase as the last vestige of the trade, and whether or not he pans out will determine how effective the back end of the Tribe’s bullpen will be in 2021.

Clase was injured in Spring Training I, and then got suspended for PED use, so the average fan hasn’t seen him play a whole ton.

We know he has triple-digit heat, but will he able to pitch with command while effectively executing a secondary pitch?

dark. Next. Indians have 6 players among Top 100 prospects!

Right now, James Karinchak and Nick Wittgren are the only locks for back-end work, Everything else is up for grabs. Here’s hoping Clase performs, making the Indians big winners in the Kluber deal.
