The Browns missed on J.J. Watt, as in the end, it looked like money was paramount for the three-time Defensive Player of the Year.

Watt got a two-year deal with $23 million guaranteed, as he bolted for the Cardinals, who play in the NFC West. We all thought Watt would go to a Super Bowl contender, and well, Arizona isn’t one, unless he believes his presence can be what puts Arizona in the driver’s seat to knock off the Rams, Seahawks, and maybe even in the 49ers.

The Browns will now look to free agency and perhaps even the draft to bolster their pass rush, which is disappointing, because an impact player of Watt’s caliber just doesn’t look to be there.

That said, there’s still plenty of talent available, it’s just that teams have to overpay to land that players looking to cash in.
