Browns: 5 players Cleveland must sign after missing on J.J. Watt
2. Von Miller
Mack Willson is praying on it, and I am to. The veteran linebacker could be cut lose as the Broncos come to grips with a rebuild that doesn’t have a 31-year-old veteran in the cards.
Cleveland.com’s Mary Kay Cabot reported that Miller would be on the radar if the Browns lost out on the Watt sweepstakes. Certainly, Miller would be an excellent consolation prize.
Miller’s availability all come down to the Broncos picking up his fifth-year option, which pays the veteran $18 million in 2021. It’s been speculated by NFL Network’s. Ian Rapopport that a deal will get done.
Miller missed out on 2021 with an ankle injury, and considering he’s on the wrong side of 31, that’s a hefty sum to pay.
I’d be content giving Miller the same type of contract Olivier Vernon had last season, which paid about $11 million.
