6. Josh Sweat, DE, Eagles

Also proposed by Axelrod, Josh Sweat, who is in the final year of his contract, would look good rushing quarterback sacks in 2021.

Sweat was a fourth round pick in 2018. He cracked the starting lineup for the first time in 2020, while posting a career-high 6.0 sacks.

He’ll turn just 24 at the end of the month, so there’s a lot of football for the Florida State product to play.

Most of what was written about Barnett applies to Sweat. The Eagles are in a position of transition and keeping Sweat after 2021 will require a new contract.

How late a draft-pick would the Eagles be wiling to accept is the question concerning actually get a deal consummated.

Sweat’s career looks like it could still be in the ascending mode, and it would be a steal for the Browns to buy now.

For what it’s worth, Andrew Berry worked for the Eagles in 2019. Philly’s been mentioned as a trade parter a couple times, so the connection is certainly worth mentioning.
