There’s rumors of Richard Sherman reuniting with new Jets coach Robert Saleh in New York. Saleh was the defensive coordinator of the 49ers when Sherman went to San Fran from Seattle.

Alas, the Browns have their own connection to the former Pro Bowler. Joe Woods was the defensive backs coach in San Fran when Sherman’s career blossomed post-seahawks.

Sherman’s recently taken to Twitter to highlight his career stats, which indicate him to be a sure-fire Hall of Fame.

That said, the Browns won’t be paying for what Sherman did in Seattle and San Fran, so the money will have to be right.

It’s easy to point to Sherman and state, “We want him,” but actually, bringing him on board makes a lot of sense.

He’s a winning player who offers a veteran presence. For a younger defense, that swagger could go along way in helping the Browns take the next the next step.

Sherman was limited to five games last season because of a calf strain, but I’d love to see him in an orange helmet starting opposite of Ward.
