Few would have predicted Gareon Conley’s star would dim so much after watching him show out at Ohio State.

That said, the former first-round pick has battled injuries and inconsistency and will join his third team since entering the league as a first-round pick back in 2017.

It’s been reported that the Browns and Conley have mutual interest in partnering up, and adding him would likely come at a bargain price, considering the Ohio State product didn’t play at all in 2020.

Cleveland signed Troy Hill in free agency, and while he’s capable of playing on the outside, the veteran is a subpart defender in the slot.

With this in mind, the Browns need to find a veteran that can push Greedy Williams for playing time opposite of Ward, and in this case, Ward’s college teammate would certainly be intriguing.

Conley’s posted 4.4 speed in the past, and a his 6-foot frame is ideal for the outside. He’s only 25 years old. Perhaps Cleveland is where the northeast Ohio native can put it all together.
