Browns: The Athletic’s 7-round mock nets analytics gifts in mid rounds

Round 5, pick 169, Jack Anderson, G, Texas Tech

I’ll be the first to admit, I’m not sitting around watching game take of Texas Tech and Jack Anderson.

I’d go with a tackle here, because at the very least, you can ask them to play guard. Plus, the Browns could really use a developmental candidate at the position. They drafted Nick Harris last season. The Washington product is being pegged as the center of the future, but he can play guard, as well.

That said, Jackson mocked Anderson to the Browns over corners of Joel Bitonio’s age and Wyatt Teller entering the final year of his rookie contract.

I know a lot of players already on the roster are due some big money via extensions soon, however, I hope Teller is a guy that will stick around for a while. It will be interring to see if Teller can play all 16 games, as he was bothered by a calf injury last season.
