Browns two-round mock draft madness nets 1st-round WR
Round 2, Pick 59, Gregory Rousseau, Miami
This is where Trapasso’s mock flies off the rails. Rousseau, generally regarded as one of the top five edge rushers in the draft, will not fall this far. Even thinking he falls into the second round is borderline craziness.
Rousseau has generally been pegged as a first-round pick, going anywhere from the mid-teens to late 20s. Many, and I mean many mock drafters have pegged him for the Browns with the 26th pick.
So, if Cleveland somehow finds the answer to the pass rushing spot opposite Myles Garrett in the second round…well, it’d be a draft miracle.
Rousseau opted out of the 2020 season, but I don’t see that hurting his stock on actual draft day. The quarterback hungry teams are going to reach for quarterbacks, and the teams who already have secured that position are going to take big-money positions such as the edge and cornerback.
Some teams may be in the market for a left tackle, such as the Ravens, but to fall all the way to 59?Sign me up, even if it’s extremely unlikely.
