Round 1, Pick 1 Kwity Paye, Michigan

The Browns will probably look to add help at corner if Clowney signs, but there are some still making the case for Cleveland to take an edge rusher at No. 26 even if they do sign Clowney.

Valdovinos writes Kwity Paye is a “physical freak,” but you could literally write the same thing about Penn State Jayson Oweh, Wake Forest’s Carlos Basham and Miami’s Jaelen Phillips and Gregory Rousseau.

The problem with this group of defensive ends is that no one stands out above the other. All ended their college careers with good grades from Pro Football Focus. That said, none were truly elite, like Myles Garrett was coming out of college.

As previously noted, they all posses those “physical tools,” but even with those traits, they weren’t able to dominate the college level. That’s not to say they won’t keep developing, it’s just that you start playing odds. Take the fifth rated DE or fourth rated corner?

Some will be good players, others will be Emmanuel Ogbah. Like I said, I’d take Paye, but I just don’t seem him lasting this long.

Corner should be the position here assuming the right player is available and the Browns sign Clowney.
