Round 3, pick 91 Bobby Brown, DT, Texas

It’s hard to argue with the position selection, as defensive tackle is one of those spots you add to the depth chart in the middle-to-late rounds.

Brown would be a fine selection, but there’s another player I’d rather take here: UC’s James Hudson. The Browns should look to add a tackle and they’d be getting a nice prospect in the end of the third round.

Hudson is still inexperienced, having logged just 800 snaps during his collegiate career. But if you’re looking for how important he was to the Bearcats, look no further than their bowl game. Hudson got ejected in the contest and after he was tossed, Cincinnati could stop anyone from putting pressure on their quarterback.

Alas, Browns a fine pick here. At defensive tackle, Sheldon Richardson and Malik Jackson will see a lot of reps, while second-year veteran Jordan Elliott should also see more playing time. The Browns will also welcome back Andrew Billings into the fold, after he opted out of 2020.

dark. Next. Clowney no QB hunter, but still valuable

If the Browns don’t take a defensive tackle here, Berry will almost certainly take one somewhere in the later rounds.
