Kevin Love is now second on a major Cleveland franchise stat. That’s right, Love has passed none other Cleveland Cavaliers great in Mark Price. Love took second on the list of the Cavs player with the most made three-pointers in the franchise history on Sunday night. Love now stands number two on a list that includes franchise icon, Lebron James.

Love, who’s finally looking healthy with the Cavs this season, has been improving steadily and his return to the lineup has seen the Cavs, for the most part, remain competitive in games. While it’s unlikely the Cavs make it into the 9th or 10th spots to qualify for the play-in tournament, Love is doing great work regardless and his play is rubbing off on others; like Dean Wade.

The morning after Love set the mark, Price reached out to Love on Twitter and congratulated him on setting the record. Love even rightfully mentioned that had Price played in today’s NBA, that he would’ve been even more special than he already is.

As they say, “game respects game” and Love was quick to point out his respect for Price after setting the record, telling reporters that Price is one of the all-time greats.

"He’s one of the all-time greats, one of the all-time Cav great. He’s a guy that made his mark on this team, on this organization. So to always be in the same sentence as guys like that, especially him being such a tremendous shooter, it really means a lot. Having said that, a little bit different style of play back in the day."

Love has shown that he can still play at a relatively high level. While he can’t be the franchise leading star anymore that he was in Minnesota, if you pair up Love with another high draft pick like Jalen Suggs, and make a few key moves in the offseason (like trading Darius Garland), you might just be able to get the team competitive enough to keep Love around.
