Kevin Love had maybe his best game yet but the Cavs can’t bounce back.

The Cavs are going to close out the season very shorthanded but that just means more opportunity for the younger players, even if the Heat spanked the Cavs 124-107. Some of those young stars even stepped up, like Dean Wade, who had a nice shooting night, scoring 18 points on 60% shooting; all from three-point. The best this game had to offer from the Cavaliers, however, belonged to Kevin Love.

Love had one of his worst games against the Wizards but made sure to bounce back against the Heat. The veteran forward went 9-14 from the floor and 7-10 from three-point land. It may have been his best three-point shooting night of the season.

Isaac Okoro and Jarrett Allen also had fine nights, with Okoro dropping 11 points on 50% shooting, and Allen pulling in 14 rebounds. Those two and Wade really did play a fine game, but the Cavs had no other help off the bench and Love and Sexton played absolutely terrible defense all night.

Top 3 Game Performers

1 Point – Collin Sexton

Yes, Collin Sexton had 25 points on a respectable 40% shooting from the floor and a nice 4-6 from three. Yet, this is a two-way game and Sexton had a +/- of -21. Sexton isn’t generating enough points to compensate for his poor defense. Sexton has to start putting up better scoring nights if he’s not going to guard anyone.

2 Points – Kevin Love

The only reason Kevin Love is getting an extra point over Sexton, despite having nearly the same stat line, is because Love looked awful in his last outing and a bounce-back performance is always appreciated.

3 Points – Cedi Osman

Cedi Osman is the modern-day Hedo Turkoglu, a point-forward with some decent, but streaky, shooting. Osman takes the top spot tonight with his 15 points, 11 assists, seven rebound, all backed by shooting over 50% on the night. His five turnovers were a problem, however.
