It sounds like the Cavs players are looking for an out.

It’s been one bad day after another for the Cavs, having lost nine in a row, NBA writer Sam Amico has heard that anywhere up to 88% of players on the Cavaliers want out. Citing and reporting an anonymous ex-Cavs player in a recent Tweet, Amico is adding fuel to the fire that is the Cavs disastrous season.

Amico is a trusted name for basketball news, so believe what he writes. He’s earned a reputation for honesty.

With rumors of Kevin Love being a malcontent, numerous issues with the roster, the drafting of guys like Kevin Porter Jr., and the inability to cultivate any talent in a timely manner, the Cavaliers are absolutely lost.

Even players like Sexton, who’s 24 points per game seem like a promising sign, except his advanced metrics are terrible, painting the portrait of a man who can score but do little else. The Cavs are in a place where a full tear down may be in order; again.

The Cavs have to address the culture issue.

By all accounts, J.B. Bickerstaff isn’t the problem. He’s doing the best he can with the people he has. The issue is going to come down to Koby Altman, who brought in all of these players. As much as people may disagree, the culture starts on the court, and the Cavs culture sucks. From Love’s cantankerous ways to Sexton’s glory-hogging style of play, to Andre Drummond attempting to be a play-initiator, the Cavaliers have seen their fair share of players rebel against the system.

The players have made it clear they don’t want to follow coach Bickerstaff’s formula, and that’s not just an indication on the Cavaliers players, but on the management that assembled them. This falls all on the shoulders of Altman. There were rumors that the Cavaliers may be placed into the hands of Dan Gilbert’s son, Grant, sooner rather than later.

If that’s true, that decision may come as early as this offseason.

For the sake of the Cavalieres and its fans, let’s hope that’s true.
