2021 NBA lottery mock draft: Cavs get franchise changer
5. Orlando: Jonathan Kuminga, Wing, G-League
Orlando hasn’t been truly relevant since Shaq and Penny, which is why they need to bet on upside in the form of G-Leaguer Jonathan Kuminga.
They unloaded Evan Fournier to Boston before the trade deadline, leaving their small forward opening ripe for Kuminga to take over.
He’s not the most polished prospect, but he has flashed an ability to hit shots from the outside. Plus, at 6-foot-6, 210 pounds, Magic fans would love to see him running downhill against the opposition.
With his size, Kuminga has the potential to guard other team’s wings, but that’s an ability we won’t be able to judge until he’s really tested at the NBA level.
