As the Cavs await the 2021 NBA Draft, a sect of fans are waiting for the franchise to finally trade Kevin Love. Unfortunately, considering his injury history and mega contract, the four-time All-Star has a 0.0 % chance to being moved.

It’s great news Love was selected to play for team USA, even if it’s in a reserve role, which he is expected to be on the star-studded roster.

Why? Because Love will be working on basketball throughout the summer and staying in basketball shape. For a guy who’s collected more money in street clothes than in uniform, this is a prime opportunity to boost his stock, even a little.

I’m not pretending the Cavs will be receiving big trade offers if Love is successful this summer, but his performance with Team USA, matched with  playing on a roster that should be upgraded by the No. 3 pick in the draft, might, and it’s a huge leap, might help the Cavs unload the final year and a half of his contract.

At this point of his career, Love is viewed as a player who can’t stay on the court. To make matters worse, questions about his attitude popped up this season, which became visible on camera.

It’ll be interesting to see what happens if the Cavs draft Evan Mobley next month. Not because he and Love are the same type of player, but because the question has to be asked? Who sacrifices minutes for Love?

Mobley would be a better defender than love and more explosive on the offensive end. Allen could be signed to a $100 million contract. Larry Nance Jr. seems to be more of a winning player than Love at this point of his career.

Love is the best floor spacer/shooter among this group, but he’s not the future.

dark. Next. How special is Mobley?

Hopefully, his inclusion on Team USA will remind us that he can still be a really good player because of his ability to shoot and grab rebounds.
