Emmanuel Clase

Of course, Emmanuel Clase is on the list, his save-mate James Karinchak is on here. Clase, like Karinchak, is one of the best relievers on not just the team, but in the entire Major Leagues. The hard-throwing reliever has dazzled fans with the speed of his fastball, making him someone the Tribe can truly rely on.

Clase missed most of 2020 due to issues with a positive test but the main piece in the Corey Kluber trade has more than delivered. The Indians win trades all the time, in part because they see talent who can help them. They’re a great talent scouting organization and have done impressive work making sure they aren’t giving up their vets for just anything.

Trading away Kluber was hard but seeing where his career went after the trade and seeing where Clase is going since arriving, not only was trading Clase for Kluber smart and the right call, but it also insured the Tribe won the trade with the Rangers.

In 33.2 innings of work for the Tribe this year, Clase has posted a 1.07 ERA, alongside 37 strikeouts and just 13 walks. He is giving up more hits than Karinchak but he’s also giving up fewer runs as well.
