It should be noted that Kyle Kuzma is rumored to be involved in a potential trade with the Oklahoma City Thunder that would bring the Lakers Kemba Walker in return. Yet, we’re already in it, so we’re going to keep going and just explain why this trade doesn’t work.

Namely that whatever team is going to get Collin Sexton will most likely sign him to an extension, so the lack of compensation on this deal makes so very little sense. Kuzma has already peaked talent-wise.  He’s not really a good three-point shooter, and as far as rebounding goes, forget about it. He’s one of the softest in the game.

That doesn’t mean he has no redeeming qualities. If he were someone who was available at a discount or came in via free agency on a cheap deal, absolutely go get Kuzma. For Collin Sexton, however? No, heck no.

You’d need to goose another first-round draft pick, unprotected, of course, to even get me talking about a deal with the Lakers.
