Signing Euro Star Kevin Pangos

This is actually a very interesting idea. The Cavs should already be scouring the Euro Leagues for all sorts of players right now. Same for the Australian league. The Spurs just signed Jock Landale, former finals MVP of the Australian National Basketball League, and is a player who could be a huge get for the black and silver. Since Landale entered the NBA draft in 2018 and didn’t get drafted all the Spurs had to do was sign him.

Same situation for Kevin Pangos. Pangos finished at Gonzaga and didn’t get drafted. Since then he has played his whole pro career overseas and has been a pretty good player across that time. The now-28-year-old went is eligible to be signed as a free agent and could be a nice boost for the Cavaliers.

Cleveland is rumored to be eyeing him as a backup to Collin Sexton and presumably, Darius Garland and Ricky Rubio should the team need him to. In 2021, he averaged 13.5 points and 6.7 assists in just 28 minutes. He also shot over 50% from the floor and just under 40% from three-point. Since foreign leagues have much better defenses due to the rules, those are some really impressive stats.

Pangos would have far less aggressive defenses in the NBA. He might be a gem of a signing.
