1. Cleveland Browns potential target? Jake Verity, K, Ravens

First off, Ravens kicker Jake Verity could be traded, as the Ravens are reportedly fielding calls for the man blocked by Justin Tucker.

That said, he’s still available and no trade yet.

Why would the Browns want him? Verity’s opened a lot of eyes during the preseason, going 4-of-5 on field goals and 6-of-7 on extra points.

Verity left school early but went undrafted. The ECU product is one of the top kickers in school history, posting a 75.5 conversion percentage on field goals and 97.7 percent on extra points.

The Browns’ kicking situation turned surprisingly tumultuous when the team put Cody Parky on IR with a quad injury and then cut him the next day. The move appeared to clear the way for Chase McLaughlin to become the team’s No. 1 choice, but with the nature of the position, it’s anyone’s guess.

This is the same regime that cut Austin Seibert following last fall’s opening debacle, so if they believe Verity is the better kicker and there’s a chance to get them, I’d expect the Browns to make an attempt.
