The Indians are giving fans a glimpse into the future.

The Indians are giving fans constant reasons to tune in for the rest of 2021, including the most recent record-breaking stat by this franchise; 20 straight games with at least one home run. The Indians have been able to hit the long ball for most of 2021.

In 2021 through Sep. 7th, the Indians are 5th in the AL and 10 in the Majors in total home runs. Where the Indians’ offense fails is with their contact and getting on-base. They’re just 21st in the Majors in batting average, and they’re only 18th in the league in RBIs. They’re also an impatient bunch, ranking 26th in walks for a team.

That said, there is hope for the future. Some guys will get better, others will be traded, and eventually, guys like Nolan Jones will be called up to help stabilize the offense.

The home run streak the Indians are on is impressive.

The Indians Bally Sports Cleveland Twitter account broke down some real impressive streak stats that should help fans be excited about the future of this ballclub.

The streak began on Aug. 15 in Detroit. Since then, Franmil Reyes and Jose Ramirez have both hit seven home runs in the last 20 games. The longest since then belongs to Bradley Zimmer at 465 feet.

It’s been a team effort, however, with 11 people helping the team sustain the record. Those players are Reyes, Ramirez, Zimmer, Daniel Johnson, Amed Rosario, Owen Miller, Yu Chang, Austin Hedges, Bobby Bradley, Myles Straw, and Oscar Mercado.

Of those names, the corp group (Reyes, Zimmer, Ramirez, Rosario, Straw, and Zimmer) are under contract through the next two seasons at least, with most not being unrestricted free agents until 2024 or 2025 at the earliest.

This is a squad that could instantly be back in the playoff picture next season if they have a healthy rotation, and have a few good callups as the season goes on.
