5 Cleveland Browns whose stocks are booming for vanquishing Vikings
4. Cleveland Browns DT Malik McDowell
He’s the Browns’ candidate for Comeback Player of the Year and his resume keeps getting stronger.
Williams’ interception of Kirk Cousins should’ve put the game on ice, but Minnesota got the ball black and Kevin Stefanski needed his defense to make one more stand.
With 1:19 to play, McDowell, along with Malik Jackson, pressured Cousins, forcing a turnover on downs and delivering the win to the Browns.
McDowell had two tackles in the game, and was officially credited with one quarterback hit. He seemed to make more of an impact than that. I don’t have his pressure numbers, but I’ll assume he had a few.
Myles Garrett isn’t on the stock list this week, but we all know he could be every week. Garrett had another sack, raising his total to 5.5. He also had seven pressures, a team high. The Browns defensive line was very good in this one, stopping the run and making Cousins uncomfortable.
