It’d be nice if the Cleveland Browns found a way to win one these titanic shootouts against the league’s upper echelon quarterbacks, but for now, we’ll have to digest a 47-42 loss to the Chargers.

In defeat, the Browns dropped to 3-2 on the season.

This game conjured up memories of Lamar Jackson getting the best of the Browns in Cleveland last year, while Patrick Mahomes was reading and willing to tear our hearts out six weeks ago. This time around, it was Justin Herbert, as the fan base will assuredly use the entire week to recover from stomach punch that was another heartbreaking loss.

We will recover and the Browns should get back on track, but clearly, Kevin Stefanski and the crew have a problem: Beating great quarterbacks. They get Kyler Murray on Sunday, and everyone wants to give him the MVP at the quarter pole of the season, so buckle up.

Looking back at my preseason predictions, I had the Browns losing this one, and have been right on every pick so far this season. At 3-2, the Browns are in a good position, although they play a Cardinals team that’s better than I expected in Week 6.

We’ll get into that later in the week, but as for this one goes, there were some great performances as the Browns founds themselves in heavyweight prize fight.

But as always, some players need to up their games if Cleveland’s going to take the next step. With that in mind, here’s five Browns whose saw their stocks sink in Cleveland’s 47-42 loss to the Chargers in Week 5.
