5 Cleveland Browns whose stocks jumped in Chargers thriller
5. Cleveland Browns G Joel Bitonio
In his 100th game, Joel Bitonio was leading the way for the big day put together by Cleveland’s running backs, Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt.
Bitonio drew rave reviews from Pro Football Focus after the game, with the site proclaiming him the best run blocker on the unit.
Jack Conklin and Wyatt Teller also played well after getting a little heat here last week. The duo didn’t allow a pressure, according to PFF.
By the end of the game, the Browns’ offensive line found itself in peril, though, with Conklin leaving with an injury. He’ll likely head for an MRI this week, according to The Athletic’s Zach Jackson.
The Browns were already limping into this one with starter Jedrick Wills out, in addition to super sixth man Chris Hubbard being declared out for the season. Blake Hance started the game at left tackle and rookie James Hudson entered the contest for Conklin.
I thought Hance played fine, but with two tackles in at the end of the game at a time when the Chargers were set to tee off on Mayfield, the Browns were clearly in a tough spot.
