6 trades Cleveland Browns should buy, sell ahead of NFL deadline
3. Cleveland Browns buy OT Cody Ford
Offensive tackles aren’t exactly growing on trees at this point of the season, but Bills tackle Cody Ford has fallen down the depth chart and the Browns need some big-time insurance following a season ending injury to Chris Hubbard.
We’re seeing how big that injury is, as the Browns are without starters Jedrick Wills and Jack Conklin. With no Hubbard, Blake Hance and rookie James Hudson have been tasked with starting in a tough spot.
Ford can play guard and tackle and he was recently a healthy scratch against the Chiefs.
When Wills and Conklin are healthy and ready to go, Ford could assume the sixth-man role manned by Hubbard, affording Cleveland some insurance on the line.
What would it take to get him out a Buffalo? Could he be had for a late-round pick? If the line injuries persist, I’d be willing to find out.
