Greg Newsome looks like a budding star for the Cleveland Browns, as the corner will be remembered for his key third-down tackle of Diontae Johnson two yards short of the marker.

Newsome also forced a big incompletion in the first half.

Also noticeably, when the ball did go Newsome’s way, he was usually on his man like a wet blanker. It’s a different look than what we’ve seen from Denzel Ward and Greedy Williams.

Williams was OK in this one, but again, there were too many times where you had to wonder how his man got so wide open.

As for Newsome, the first-round pick stepped up and made plays against a divisional rival when you’re looking and expecting your alpha players to perform.
