3. Cleveland Browns: Don’t quit running

It’s only a hunch, but I’ve got to believe the Browns will have more success running the ball in Week 9.

Nick Chubb had just 16 carries for a dismal 3.8 yard per carry average. D’Ernest Johnson had four rushes for 22 yards. It was a close game. The Browns needed to run and couldn’t.

As previously written, Baker Mayfield is going to have to complete some passes to loosen up the defense, but if Chubb can get going, lookout. The University of Georgia product is an analytics savant when it comes to breaking tackles, and he’s playing a team that missed a whopping 15 take downs in their embarrassing loss to the Jets, according to Bengals.com.

An addition bonus to getting that run game going means the Browns can’t control the time of possession, something that’s worked in their favor in Stefanski’s short time as coach.

Think of this game as you’d think of playing the Chiefs. Patrick Mahomes can strike any moment. So can Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase. New York possessed the ball for 36 minutes during their miraculous win, which was 10 more minutes that Cincinnati.
