3 Cleveland Browns who probably won’t get an extension next
The Cleveland Browns spent the days leading up to Week 10’s matchup with the New England Patriots by doling out contract extensions, heavily investing in their offensive line.
Fans love to complain about the offensive line when it’s a train wreck, so the Browns are shoring things up so that there can be no future problem. With Kevin Stefanski’s offense heavily leaning on the zone-blocking scheme, it’s hard to argue with the front office’s decisions to extend Wyatt Teller and Joel Bitonio.
At the most magnified position, quarterback, you won’t see Baker Mayfield here because I believe an extension will get done. I don’t think it’s going to be the $40 million annual average salary, but maybe somewhere in the $30s?
Maybe it’s wishful thinking, but if the Browns continue to wait, and Mayfield flourishes again, now that Odell Beckham Jr. is gone, Mayfield may get what he wants, especially if the Browns meet expectations of going deeper into the playoffs.
Deep breath. One game at time. I digress.
Here’s three Browns who probably won’t get an extension next.
