Cleveland Browns Week 10 points spread and prediction for the Patriots
The Cleveland Browns will be underdogs against the New England Patriots, and on the eve of the game, those beautiful orange helmets are 2-point underdogs at Foxboro.
You’ll never have to pry to hard to tell you why the Browns will pound the Patriots on Sunday, but with Cleveland missing some key players, you can understand why WynnBET has the Browns as 2-point dogs.
Nick Chubb will miss the game because of Covid, as will Demetric Felton. Chubb’s the best running back in the league, so you can understand why the Browns went from 1-point underdogs on Wednesday, to where the number stands now.
The Browns are also without starting right tackle, Jack Conklin. He suffered a dislocated elbow. Blake Hance has backed him up, and wasn’t a problem in the win against Cincinnati.
As for predictions, it’s hard to peel the orange colored glasses off of me, and it’s not going to happen against ankle breaker Mac Jones.
Cleveland Browns outlook
The Browns’ defense is starting to put things together and I expect the secondary to continue with the physical style exhibited in Cincinnati. The Browns intercepted two passes against the Bengals. They had three all season entering the contest.
Offensively, going from Chubb to D’Ernest Johnson is a drop off, but Johnson should be effective enough so that Kevin Stefanski can put Baker Mayfield into position to make those high-percentage throws we’ve become accused to seeing.
If Johnson can’t be effective, the Browns are in trouble. When Baker has to throw more, the results aren’t good. When he throws more than 31 passes, the Browns are 10-18. Mayfield has 47 touchdowns against 29 interceptions and an 85.6 rating, according to Statmuse.
When he throws fewer than 25 passes, Mayfield is 10-3 with a rating of 92, with 12 TDs against eight picks.
Alas, Odell Beckham Jr. is no longer here and the the Browns are better without him. This isn’t some hot take. There’s enough game tape out there that proves the offense hums without unlucky No. 13.
